Spa-Wellness Promotions & Increased Bookings: It’s a Package Deal

When was the last time you posted a deal or package to your SpaFinder.com listing? If you can’t remember, it’s been too long! Submit deals (and ultimately increase bookings) via your partner page (please note, partners who are part of our Enhanced Listing program can post deals and packages [a complimentary feature of your SpaFinder Wellness program!]; while you’re at it, post an event to your listing as well). If you’d like to participate in the Enhanced Listing program, contact fidelina.mena@spafinder.com.

Please note your promotions need to fall under the parameters of a “deal,” which include:

  • Deals must offer a minimum of 10 percent off public rates and include the “original/retail” price and the “discounted” price
  • Deals must provide the customer with a clear redemption path, such as a phone number or website with reference code, etc.
  • Promotions must be time relevant; for example, a Valentine’s Day deal should not be promoted in April
  • Deal postings may only last for a maximum of 60 days
  • We will continue to allow ongoing/evergreen deals ONLY if they are unique/infrequent/opportunities to capture new business (i.e. Birthday Special or New Customer Special)
  • Cannot offer your own gift cards for sale

Let’s face it, everyone loves a great deal or special offer.  Online group-buying deals have exploded onto the global scene, and the old-fashioned “deal” has transformed into a hip online industry, with sites like SpaFinder’s SpaRahRah!™, Groupon and LivingSocial leading the way for spa/wellness deals.

Vows Renewals on the Rise

Springtime means love is in the air, and according to the “Top 11 Luxury Travel Trends for 2011” report by Luxury Travel Magazine and Abelow PR, vow renewals are on the upsurge, as more and more baby boomers celebrate landmark anniversaries in exotic locations. Help potential clients plan a romantic spa trip (a second honeymoon, perhaps?) with their sweetie:

Check out these examples from top resort getaway spas, which welcome guests of all types—family vacationers, couples and romantics, and winter enthusiasts—to join the festivities, with packages that include amenities such as sleigh rides, tandem spa treatments, caroling, and decadent meals.  Below that, you’ll find some examples of holiday day spa deals from spas throughout the country – holiday packages galore! 

Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa
Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa in Cape Town, South Africa, celebrates Christmas with the Santa’s Sleigh Goes Everywhere package; this six-night stay or longer includes roundtrip helicopter transfers from Cape Town International Airport to the hotel’s very own heli-pad, one sunset gazebo spa treatment per couple, and tickets to Carols by Candlelight at the Kirstenbosch Garden with a picnic hamper.
Available: December 1, 2010 – January 5, 2011; from ZAR 13,225 (approximately US$1,896) per night for two adults in a sea-facing suite 

The Grove
Inspired by the opulence of the Romanov dynasty, The Grove indulges holiday guests with a magical Royal Christmas. The 300-acre estate, located near London, features winter wonderland walks, a candlelit carol service at its local church, Christmas meals, and a feast of entertainment including ballet classes, Moscow circus skills workshops, and Cossack dancing.
Two-night packages starting from £415 (approximately US$656) per person, per night 

Dolder Grand
Guests can save up to 20% when they book Dolder Grand’s Christmas Deluxe with Grand Spa Retreat package. The Zurich-based property mirrors a winter wonderland, welcoming guests with a Christmas tree decorated with more than 5,000 ornaments. This offer includes four-night accommodations, a seven-course Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas brunch, and five spa treatments at the Dolder Grand Spa.
Rates start from CHF 5,860/double occupancy in a Junior Suite Deluxe. Valid for four consecutive nights between December 21-28, 2010 (December 24 must be either the first or last night of stay).

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa: You, Me & The Mistletoe Package, which includes a couple’s massage under the mistletoe, along with complimentary hot chocolate and marshmallows (50 mins; $199) 

VH Spa at Hotel Valley Ho: The Java Gingersnap Massage and Foot Scrub treatment ends with ginger hot chocolate next to a crackling fire (90 mins; $145) 

Day Spa Holiday Deals: 

Aphrodite Aesthetics in Michigan is marketing some package deals as holiday gift ideas, reminding clients to “give that special someone the gift of relaxation and beauty with Aphrodite Aesthetics,” the deal says. The spa is offering three packages, one of which includes a half-hour Swedish massage, half-hour facial, and manicure and pedicure for $100, a savings of $50 for the holidays! Available Dec. 1, 2010 – January 10, 2011. 

LA Salon and Spa in New Jersey is doing the same thing, advertising its deal as “the perfect gift for a SpaFinder guest!”
The spa’s two holiday packages are the Ultimate Getaway ($170) package, which includes a 1-hour deep-tissue full-body massage, 60-minute spa facial, deluxe pedicure exfoliating treatment and penetrating foot massage, deluxe manicure, and exfoliating treatment. For a smaller package, try the Mini-Escape ($100), which includes a 60-minute massage or spa facial and a spa pedicure and manicure. 

And Facelogic in Mount Kisco, NY, is advertising holiday package specials as well, and integrating gift cards into the mix: $150 massage and facial package or buy $75+ gift card and receive $10 free. Massage clients will also receive a free sugar foot scrub. 

To up the ante, go a step further and feature holiday-themed treatments in your holiday packages, like these seasonal-inspired treatment examples.
